In a breakthrough development, the suspect involved in the recent fuel theft incident in Ekiti State has been apprehended and is currently in police custody.
Information Nigeria had reported that the Honda Accord driver made off with N58,000 worth of fuel without paying.
According to the X user, Liltuffsb, who gave previous details, the suspect’s name is Abilomu Adedoyin.
It came to light on Monday that the vehicle used in the crime was sold to him two years ago, in 2023, with the plate number still bearing the previous owner’s details.
In a stunning twist, another fuel station has come forward, alleging that the same individual had committed a similar crime at their establishment.
“THE CRIMINAL HAS BEEN APPREHENDED and is in police custody!
“His name is ABILOMU ADEDOYIN
“NOTE: The vehicle was sold to him 2 years ago (2023) with the plate no. Every detail attached to the vehicle is not his but the previous owner.
“Another fuel station has come to identify the same man to have done the same thing to them,” the X user added.
This revelation might raise concerns about the suspect’s possible involvement in a series of fuel thefts in the area.
The police are expected to investigate these claims further and charge the suspect accordingly, however, the State police command is yet to comment on the arrest as at the time of filing this report.
