Not all Africans, In Islam we don't spend much on burials it is the Christians that like doing that and it is not even religious. One even wonder where they inherit that tradition from because it's not biblical! Its becoming more like a fashion trend that changes with time.
wen makin a comment always try and go straight to d point instead of tryin to cause trouble. Wat has religion got to do wit this?

Religion and people can never be separated. They always go together understand. So the guy is right take it or leave it. I am glad that everyone has right to say his mind including you! Let other people say what they think is right how they want to say it not how you want them to say it UNDERSTNAD!?!?!?!?!?

Funeral cost money due to the interference of extended family. When someone dies you will see all the extended family coming with their children and grand children. You will have to feed them breakfast, lunch and dinner. In most cases, these family members are the ones that decide how the burial rite will go.

EVENTHE BIBLE SAID IT, it is better to jubilate when a soul died, for he or she is daparting from this suffering world to meet thy lord,
so pple has the right to celebrate mostly if the family is in money.and again, its turning like tradition these days to celebrate when someone  died,in igbo land it is a final respect to, and the sons need to do something guud

I get ur point but he should have only said that only christians do dat not muslims and should have ended there instead of sayin things like biblical, fashion trend bla bla bla. Its just a way of causin troublet instead of tryin to cause trouble. Wat has religion got to do wit this?

@post its not celebrating the burial, but rather celebrating the life of the dead, ITS an African tradition, we celebrate LIFE not the death.
