The journalists at about 10:30a.m. were at Kak village trying to gather information on the crisis rocking the council from the survivors, when the rampaging Fulani herdsmen struck, shooting sporadically into the air. The journalists, the lawmaker and officials of Red Cross at the village abandoned their vehicles and ran as far as their legs could fetch them.

Some of the journalists working for electronic media also abandoned their cameras and other things to enable them run fast as the Fulani were closing in on them. The mobile policemen who were just arriving the village when the marauders stuck took a French leave along with the journalists.

It was learnt that the Fulani struck again on noticing that the villagers were back to their abode five days after they were sacked and their valuable property destroyed. In the previous attack, no fewer than 150 residential houses were burnt and 8 people killed in the village.
