TW Magazine’s cover girl for the month of May is none other than Agbani Darego, who at the impressionable young age of 18 was thrust from obscurity unto the world stage, when she made history in 2001 by becoming the first black African woman to be crowned Miss World.

In a pose that shows a woman who is youthful, exuberant and stunningly beautiful, Agbani Darego is still “Sitting On Top Of The World” 12 years after receiving her gilded crown. She has made a conscious effort to live her life away from the public eye, but in this revealing interview she opens up like never before, sharing details about her journey from the pageant world to the modeling circuit her current evolution into a fashion entrepreneur with the launch of her eponymous denim line.

Our Celebrity feature is veteran performer and Nigerian Idol judge, Yinka Davies, a feisty woman who is determined to stay true to her own voice. In this interview Yinka talks fame, family and the tragic accident that changed her outlook on life.

We also get acquainted with three young people forging their way ahead in their respective fields of endeavor – rapper, Blink; media personality, Misi Molu and choreographer/fitness instructor, Bunmi Olunloyo

This month’s edition is also a celebratory ode to mothers everywhere, starting with our special report, “Like Mother, Like Daughter” which features five businesses run by a mother and daughter team.

Keeping with the theme of celebrating mothers, our whopping 18-page fashion spread features 10 colourful pages of must-have “yummy mummy” maternity looks. Our Practical Girl’s Guide (PGG) brings you two of this season’s most desired trends: tribal prints & metallic, while our First Look feature showcases pieces by emerging design house, Trish O’ Couture.

This edition also includes our regular page turning features on relationships, health, finance and beauty. It is definitely not to be missed
