The Police Special Task Force on Anti-Pipeline Vandalism says it arrested four foreigners, including a woman, for allegedly attempting to vandalise pipeline in Lagos.

Mr Friday Ibadin, an Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the task force, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Sunday.

Those arrested are a Ghanaian and three citizens of the Republic of Benin, adding: ``we are on the trail of one of their ring leaders.’’

Ibadin said that the task force arrested the suspects following a tip off while they were attempting to vandalise NNPC facilities at Aaraba Area of Atlas Cove, Lagos.

He said the Task Force led by Mr Osayande Onaghise, recovered cash of N520, 000 and special pipes used in siphoning petroleum products from the suspects.

According to him, one of the pipes can fill thousands of 50 litres plastic containers within an hour.

Ibadin said the police had commenced investigation into the matter. (NAN)
