Lying competition

A reverend father was passing through a street and saw a group of teenagers of age ranging from 11-15 gathered round a dog and on getting closer, he noticed that they were arguing very seriously. So he approached them to find out what the problem is. He asks them, "The peace of the lord be with you, what is the problem here?"

  "This dog is a runaway junkie and it got itself into this neighborhood, there had been fights on who will take it and to settle it, we agreed that whoever wins a competition will take the dog home." said one of the boys

  "Is that all? What competition is that?" asked the reverend father.

  "We agreed that the greatest lier will take the dog, that's the competition."

 On hearing that, the reverend father was aghast and immediately plunged into an angry and serious sermon against lying, which he concluded by saying, ".............Anyway, I don't even know why you kids should be lying at such a young age, When i was at your age and up till now, I have never lied!!"

The last statement pushed the kids into serious thoughts as all of them got silent thinking about the last statement of the reverend father, Then suddenly, the youngest boy got up and said to the others, "Alright now, Give him the dog."
