Interesting points. However I disagree with you on these issues. The west mainly UK, France and USA have been pressuring some African countries to adopt gay laws including same sex marriage. They provide aides to these countries so that they will adopt their ways. Now this is not exaggeration or assumptions. You can find more from Tanzania relations with UK. If the problem is because of human rights abuses as Obama mentioned, you and I know that USA can easily bypass this and play ball with Nigerian govt. They have done it before and are willing to do it again as long as it is in USA's interests. Remember the present day ISIS. Who were members of ISIS before the formation of this evil unit? They used to fight against Assad of Syria. Which countries supported them to the extent of supplying weapons - UK, USA, FRANCE and others? Didn't you see John McCain visiting ISIS leaders and openly campaigning and making speeches on their behalf in USA? If not because of Russia's interventions Syria would probably be a war zone now or a heaven for ISIS. The irony is USA and other main powers are spending millions of dollars now fighting ISIS and Putin is laughing. These arrogant countries think they know it all until their mistakes explode in their faces and it often does. So my friend, the point is if Obama wants to play ball with Buhari the Nigeria human rights records will not stop him. I don't believe he has to think long and hard or convince anyone to do it. The fact is Buhari gave him an unequivocal answer and in turn he gave Buhari unequivocal response - if your law forbids sodomy our law forbids human right abuses. That human right abuse is Obama's cue. Buhari needs to learn to deal with leaders especially those more experienced and clever than him. There is something called diplomacy. He needs to learn.
Why blaming him – Obama? He is using what he has to get what he wants for his country. Whether you like gays or not is not the point the point is USA is a super power and Nigeria is really nothing. Many countries on earth will catch gold when USA sneeze. Mind you my friend, I don’t agree with you that homosegxwality is natural to some people. That is just the argument the westerners are using to sell their social and political illness.
Have you guys asked yourselves the questions or are you letting unnecessary sentiments and emotions get the better of you. What will happen to these sophisticated weapons after the Nigerian army might have routed Boko Haram? Who supplies Boko Haram weapons? Who are Boko Haram members? We all know that Boko Haram initially used left over weapons from deposed former Libyan leader Gaddafi. We equally know that ISIS are in alliance with Boko Haram or the other way round. Who said that THEY will make Nigeria ungovernable for Goodluck Jonathan? There are elements in the northern caliphates that supply those weapons and funds. The people that support, sponsor and protect Boko Haram till today are embedded in the Nigerian army/military. President Buhari is one of them. He is not with the main stream Boko Haram rather with one of the extreme associates. The brushes he had with Boko Haram before he became president happened when Boko Haram was trying to clear out other groups. Arming Buhari with sophisticated weapons is like proving leaders of ISIS with military drones. I am happy that USA refused to supply weapons to Nigerian government army. If they Nigerian military is really ready to fight Boko Haram they posse enough weapons to do it. The fact is Nigerian military lack cohesion, organisation and competence. Without foreign leadership the Nigerian military has nothing to offer. If not that the Biafran movements have adopted nonviolence approaches to secede I will advise them to team up with the Niger militants and take on Nigerian army. This is the right time to bury Nigeria. It is very obvious that their so called allies have abandoned them. Egyptian brotherhood movement that fought with Nigeria during the Biafra war for religious reasons has be exterminated and Russia is too weak economically to upset anyone. Besides, Nigeria is not in Russia’s interests. Russia are at the moment holding their own economically and Boko Haram are only interested in their own state in West African domain. They will not fight Niger militants or Biafran. Just give them their own state and the war is over.

When actually did Doctors discharge you from the hospital. Didn't the Doctors instruct you to keep your bandage on for while but as retarded as you are simple A, B, C is difficult for you to understand. You have done your brain irreparable damage because it is leaking. Do me a favour, check yourself back to the mental unit or get your mother to drag you along. When yo come out maybe in 50 years your brain will develop enough to comprehend.

Any politician trying to win support of Nigerians and make them turn blind eye on his inadequacies must be anti-gay. The previous administration won the hearts of Nigerians by passing anti gay bill which stipulates 15 year jail for offenders and they were able to hoodwink Nigerians into overlooking their excesses. Unfortunately, nobody cares to ask if anti-gay bill was a priority. See, a country like south Africa which is smaller than Nigeria generates about 45,000 megawatts but Nigeria could not even reach 4000 megawatts under the past administration despite being the 6th largest oil producer in the world. Our judicial system is in dire need of reform. Nigeria is a place where a suspect can spend the rest of his life in prison awaiting trial and a court case can linger for years until the parties die of old age. Nigeria is a place where a policeman openly calls "a suspect" a criminal, yet our law says that a suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. Problems facing Nigeria that needs urgent attention are in myriads but politicians diverts attention of "religious sensitive" Nigerians with gay issue. The heading of this article and the content are quite incoherent because USA refusal to sell arms to Nigeria has nothing to do with gay-marriage but human right abuses in general especially the excesses of soldiers fighting Boko-Haram. However, the writer gave it anti gay title to attract attention and the trick worked.  The same people who are raining abuses on USA are the ones desperate to migrate to America in search of better life. I wonder whether these commentators even read or understand the article before commenting. As at today, gay-marriage is legal in 18 countries especially the developed nations and many countries struggling with development don't even consider it as a piece of legislation meaning that they neither support or discourage it leaving if up to individuals to choose their personal lifestyles. Ironically, Nigerian anti-gay law will be counter productive because it maybe used to victimize some innocent people. Secondly, it will keep many people ignorant of existence of gay people and thereby exposing children to them. For example, a gay-priest can easily be detected in America but not in Africa because Americans talk about it with open heart but Africans deny its existence. Gay-activities take place in Nigeria just like in any other country and the harshest law cannot stop it but will only force it underground. There will always be gay because it is something inborn in some people. When a gay man marries a woman, it does not stop him being gay. Is it not better to let them be open so that you will know them and avoid exposing your kids to them?  Watch out! someone will say I am gay  Grin
well said man...nice to see that there are some intellectually gifted people on this forum

BUHARI JST WANTED POWER BY ALL MEANS JST TO ACHIEVE HIS LONG AGED DREAM OF BECOMING A CIVILIAN PRESIDENT AND TO PROPAGATE AND IMPLEMENT NORTHERN  AGENDA. NOT THAT GEJ WAS NOT ON THE RIGHT TRACK IN FIGHTING BH.  ALL THE STEPS HE IS TAKEN SO FAR IS IN THE FOOTSTEP OF GEJ. 1. VISITING OUR NEIGHBORS TO SEEK THEIR SUPPORT IN FIGHTING BH. 2, SETTING UP A JOINT TASK FORCE 3. NEGOTIATING FOR THE RELEASE OF THE CHIBOK GIRLS. 4. REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE/ SELLING WEAPONS TO U BY AMERICA. ALL THESE DID GEJ DID WHAT HAS HE DONE DIFFERENTLY, EVEN THE TERRITORIES  CLAIMED BACK BY GEJ GOVERNMENT HAVE BEEN  TAKEN BACKS BY BH. IT IS JST COMING TO HIS KNOWLEDGE THAT AMERICA DELIBERATELY WORKED AGAINST THE FIGHT AGAINST BH CUS GEJ REFUSED THEIR GAY MARRIAGE. AS THEY ALSO TRIED TO TARNISH  OUR MILITARY'S REPUTATION BY USING AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL TO LAY ALLEGATIONS ON OUR MILITARY.
