BET’s Black Girls Rock held on Saturday night (August 5) and it was quite the event as a number of successful and inspiring black women came together for a worthy cause.
‘Black Girls Rock’ is a global women’s empowerment movement and a nonprofit mentoring organization and the event last night was attended by SZA, Ledisi, Dascha Polanco, Debra Lee, and many more inspiring women.
Honorees Issa Rae and Yara Shahidi held things down for the new school while Congresswoman Maxine Waters and music legend Dionne Warwick delivered classic fashion slays of their own.
The event was hosted by Hollywood actress Taraji P. Henson.
Black Girls Rock! is set to air Tuesday, August 22 on BET.
