
The Yobe State Police Command has made a significant arrest following reports of the alleged rape of a female student in Potiskum town. Adamu Gambo Hudu, a lecturer employed at the State General Hospital in Potiskum and also affiliated with Al-Ma’arif, a private college of health sciences in the area, has been apprehended in connection with the incident.
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, stated that Hudu was taken into custody by police operatives on Wednesday. The arrest follows allegations of rape, molestation, and breach of trust leveled against the lecturer by the victim.
DSP Dungus emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, indicating that the police are diligently pursuing leads to gather more evidence and ensure a thorough examination of the matter.
Usman Alhaji Saleh, the Registrar of Al-Ma’arif College of Health Sciences and Technology, corroborated the news of Hudu's arrest, affirming that the institution is cooperating with law enforcement authorities in the investigation process. However, Saleh refrained from providing further details or comments on the ongoing case.
