
The Federal University, Gashu’a, Yobe State, mourns the loss of one of its students, Shamsiya Murtala, who tragically lost her life in a fire incident that engulfed one of the school's female hostels on Saturday.
The university conveyed the heartbreaking news through an official statement on its Facebook page, expressing profound sadness over the untimely demise of Shamsiya, a 300-level Geography student.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew her. Shamsiya was a dedicated student with a vibrant spirit, and her presence will be sorely missed within our university community.
"As we come together to mourn this tragic loss, let us remember Shamsiya for the positive impact she had on our lives and the legacy she leaves behind. May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find solace during this difficult time,"
The fire outbreak, which occurred at the university, resulted in the destruction of students' belongings and caused significant damage to the affected hostel, as reported by DAILY POST.
