Man, Bamidele Adeleke Docked For Stealing N2m Batteries In Ibadan

A 52-year-old man identified as Bamidele Adeleke on Monday appeared before a Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State after allegedly stealing 200 high voltage batteries worth N2 million.

Adeleke, whose address was not disclosed, is being accused of theft.

Mr Philip Amusan, the Prosecutor, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 8 in the University of Ibadan vicinity.

Amusan said Adeleke stole batteries from I.H.S Telecommunications.

He claimed that the offence violated Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Mrs Moji Aworemi, the chief magistrate, granted the defendant N500,000 bail with two sureties.

Aworemi adjourned the hearing till May 9.
