Major floods hit many areas in Lagos on Wednesday morning, July 3.
Heavy rainfall began in the early hours of the morning and has continued unabated.
Places on the Island, such as Lekki, Ajah, and Ikoyi are flooded. Lagos mainland is also not left out. Areas like Gbagada, Surulere, Ikeja, and Iyana-Oworo are flooded.
Many occupants report waking up to see that flood water has entered their homes.
Lagos residents have gone on X to tweet about the flood that seems to be affecting every neighbourhood in Lagos.

Many workers are unable to go to work and have been forced to call HR to report their absence from work. This has caused "Dear HR" to trend on X.
"State of Emergency" is also trending as residents call on the government to declare a state of emergency on the issue of flooding in Lagos.
