Young Man, Habaku Barnabas Slumps & Dies While Working On His Farm In Abuja

A middle-aged man identified as Habaku Barnabas has reportedly slumped and d!ed while working on his farm in the Gawu community in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A relative of the deceased, Samson Danjuma, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust on Wednesday, December 11, said the incident happened on Saturday around 11:23 am when the deceased was harvesting benniseed.

He said the deceased, who was hale and hearty, left home with two of his sons to harvest beniseed at the farm when the incident happened.

He said Barnabas suddenly slumped and his sons struggled to revive him, adding that one of the sons quickly returned home with a motorcycle to report the incident.

"The man was hale and hearty when he left home with his two children on a motorcycle to harvest beniseed until one of the sons rushed back home to report the incident," he said.

According to him, some members of the deceased’s family immediately mobilised and took a vehicle to the farm to convey him to the hospital, where he was confirmed d3ad.

Meanwhile, two men, Zulkiful Abdulllahi and Shuaibu Abubakar, from Agyana community also in Abaji, have d!ed in a boat accident on their way home from work.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at a village called Chekenebi under Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.

According to eyewitnesses, the victims who were into block moulding went to the village on Friday to work for someone.

“After they completed the work on Saturday, they boarded a canoe. The driver of the canoe is a learner and unfortunately, the canoe developed some issues and capsized. They got drowned,” the witness narrated.
