The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has distanced itself from claims regarding the alleged disappearance of ₦180 million from the account of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) owned by social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM).
Speaking on Saturday, FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh clarified that the command has no record of the case and is not involved in any investigation into the matter.
“The FCT Police Command is not aware of any case involving VDM’s missing funds and is not conducting any investigation into it,” Adeh stated. “The individual in question should clarify where the matter was reported, as there is no record of such a case with the FCT Police Command.”
VDM’s Allegations
VDM had earlier alleged in a viral Instagram video that ₦180 million was fraudulently transferred from his NGO’s account, leaving only ₦20 million. He claimed that one suspect had been apprehended and efforts were ongoing to recover the stolen funds.
The allegations, however, have drawn skepticism from the public, with some questioning the veracity of his claims.
Lack of Further Official Response
Efforts to reach Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi for comments proved unsuccessful. Calls and messages sent to him remained unanswered at the time of this report.
As questions linger over the alleged incident, VDM’s claims remain unverified, leaving many to await further clarification or evidence to substantiate the accusations.
