This tragic incident underscores the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption and the risks associated with such competitions.
The pursuit of a cash prize in the Agbarha community of Delta State has resulted in the loss of two lives, with two others hospitalized in critical condition.
Reports indicate that the competitors consumed full bottles of a substance, allegedly alcohol, in a bid to win ₦100,000, leading to fatal consequences.
It was learnt that they took a substance alleged to be alcohol in full bottles in an attempt to finish it at once but in the process, they fell down and died instantly.
According to source, the two others are being resuscitated in a hospital.
The police are yet to issue a statement on the incident.
