@typicalman84 I have heard within Nigeria, women complain that their husbands have left them he  is doing mumu for another woman,  actually thats quite common. It does matter if the women is white or black, she probably have said the same thing. Her reaction would be common white to white, black to black black to white and any other race.  So you problem is really about Nigerian women/white women and not  Nigerian womens double standards
No the problem is Nigerian women's double standard because even as you described, that is if it is true, why would any woman call a man enslaved for doing for another woman same things he did for her which she loved and made her conclude he cared and loved her. It is in every way DOUBLE STANDARD.

"A double standard may take the form of an instance in which certain concepts (often, for example, a word, phrase, social norm, or rule) are perceived as acceptable to be applied by one group of people, but are considered unacceptable—taboo—when applied by another group" .... that is the wikipedia definition. I do not own wikipedia. so you see.

I said seems... was not making a statement, I can not prove it.  I have some of you replies in the other post about Nigerian women, and some of your other replies... and making single womans reaction in a 'thats the way all Nigerian women are' thing is telling.

I wrote in the quote.
And because of those replies, you have this feeling that i am biased against Nigerian women already? You are doing exactly the same thing you accuse me of. Some of those posts you pointed out doesn't in anyway say anything about the kind of person I am. I have issues with people whom use snippets of statements people make to accuse or conclude anything about ones character.

Yes, the things you say/write/do... gives people opinions about you. I'm not forming opinions about you off someone elses views or comments but from your own individual comments. Its normal.
Well have you ever heard of the saying, when you are in the midst of mad people, act like a mad person. So since we've been going back and forth on this particular topic, what kind of person do you think i am based on OUR(emphasis on OUR) conversation.
Where is Rome, who are the Romans? You mean you joined in those conversations just because... Usually you dont see just one side of a person, you should see the whole. I dont know, I'd say you can be rational at the same time very irrational.

So I have this Nigerian female friend whom recently got divorced by a nigerian guy. We talked a whole lot about what happened in her marriage and all and how the guy was helping her out with a lot of things around the house that are considered 'women duties'...hmm. She says she loved him so much because he really cared for her. A few minutes later, she dropped the BOMB that the guy left her for a white woman whom, in her own words, he is enslaved to. So i asked her what she meant by the guy being enslaved to the white woman. Again in her own words, "He cooks for her, cleans the house and do some house chores for her". So i was just thinking to myself this bit*h is really crazy. I mean wasn't he doing the same things for you which is the reason you felt he cared for you now she calls him being enslaved to the white lady for doing same thing? some Nigerian women if not most have really gone bunkers...

Bros, you ain't seen nothing yet. That one you met is an angel compared to some. Should anybody wonder why she is divorced?

Well very good. No one is as stable as they think they are. I am not perfect but one thing i am not is biased against Nigerian women. I just say things the way i see them, ONLINE or OFFLINE.

I understand what double standard means. My point is, it could be anyone. Men have double standards, womens do... Nigerians do, non Nigerians do. I don't think its hard to imagine a white person in your friends position. Would you say white people have this double standard if a white woman said what you friend did.

Because that mentality (when a nigerian man helps the white gf or wife in some house duties, nigerian women call it enslaved) is not present, NO it is not double standard. And besides a white woman wouldn't even say that knowing that the man did same for her. Even if she did, it'll be a jealousy issue... A kind of a "OMG i've lost a good man to another woman" kinda jealousy.

So its jealousy for white women and double standard for Nigerian women, both are not considered good anyway...  "a white woman wouldn't say that ..." really? have you met then all? and even if she did it would be something else... that comes off like if you are not biased against Nigerians, you favour white people.  No reason why two groups do the same thing and you call it different things. Anyways I should be sleeping, bye.

Very Hypocritical. I have met alot of white people to know it would be same thing. White people although different individuals live by same code... I KNOW THIS... so like i said earlier this is a known double standard amongst NIGERIAN WOMEN. Why are you leaving? I was beginning to enjoy this conversation...lol.

The 'mere fact' that she is a Nigerian only makes her a Nigerian woman period. Nothing about her alleged double standards is Nigerian. I don't know the complete story and the poster seems to be biased against Nigerian women already but I know one person does not represent everybody .  Different individuals have their have double standards, it is an individual character not a group character. Different individuals from Ghana, America, Singapore ... may have double standard, it does not make all the people from Ghana, America, Singapore ... one thing. Its unfortunate that a lot of us seem to think one person speaks for all, judging by recent posts.  If we go that route we are all terrible people because Nigerian men have horrible stereotypes and Nigerians probably have the worst stereotype as a group of people. If you are going to say all Nigerian women are a certain way, have double standards, lazy and the rest, I can call you a thief, a scammer and the rest... just saying.  When do we start thinking?
you are here criticizing the poster for being biased and also generalizing his thought about Nigerian women. but just check your comment in reds..what does that mean to you?

Huh? it means Nigerian men have negative stereotype.

i understand the meaning.my point is,why are you generalizing your thought on Nigerian Men while criticizing the poster on his  thought on nigerian women?

It appears this woman is very self-righteous. She could generalise in her criticism though offered no reliable statistics to back her claims yet frowned at the poster's alleged generalisation. Is stinks of double standard.
