Renowned Nigerian comedian Samuel Perry widely known as Brodashaggi, is celebrating his birthday this year with gratitude and reflection.
Brodashaggi who often shun birthday celebrations, disconnect from his phone and avoid birthday cakes and wishes.
However, this year marks a significant departure from his usual practices.
He disclosed that he recently escaped a life-threatening situation, which has greatly impacted his outlook on life.
“Birthdays are usually not my thing,” he shared in his Instagram post. “In fact, I switch off my phone these days cos I dislike receiving birthday calls and wishes. Only those who are close to me know Shaggi is not Samuel, but that ain’t a discussion for today, lol. But this particular birthday is different cos the gift of life was almost taken from me recently but God showed himself and gave me another chance.”
Brodashaggi expressed his gratitude for the gift of life, acknowledging that some of his peers who share his birthday are no longer with us.
He reflected on his survival with a deep sense of honour and appreciation, stating, “Today, I’m happy, I’m grateful, I’m honored cos I know some birthday mates who aren’t here to celebrate theirs. I’m no different from them, but God has spared me for a reason, I’m sure.”
Brodashaggi has created a special birthday song, which he has made available on all music platforms.
He encourages fans and followers to listen to the track as a form of celebration and support, emphasizing that the greatest gift he could receive is their engagement with his music.
