What are the possible advantages of not always being completely candid and truthful? Are there some reasons for lying, some of which may be more acceptable than others? Is it possible that our close relationships could not work without some degree of deception?
Could any relationship withstand "the truth, and nothing, but the truth?"

Lying is a bug that is very difficult to remove once it gets into a ralationship ,rather it keeps multiplying as one tends to cover an old lie with a new one .

lying some time set one free from trouble....just refresh your memory back when u were young..how u sumtime lied to your parents not to get in trouble or beaten. well in a relationship..is there nothing but the truth..but the truth out number the lies...there are sumthings to tell your partner and there are sum u don't..maybe thinking that thing will hurt his/her feeling...there are sumthing that should be left untold.

It is very difficult having a relationship without any form of lie. I've never been there but i will be there right from the day i make my marital val.
no matter how incorrect ur time is, it will be correct twice a day.

Soph, "Lies are like a betrayal to men. A man may forgive the first lie you tell him, but he will not forget. Lying repeatedly to him will make him feel as though you cannot be trusted." Since human beings are not perfect and are bound to lie, a guiding principle should be to weigh the consequences of discovery and expectant result of lying. If the consequences outweigh the expectant results, then avoid lies! Biblically, it is condemned in very strong terms YOUR YES SHOULD BE YES AND YOU NO SHOULD BE NO!

that is what causes problems in most remlationships because if u wait until ur marital vows are said before removing lies from ur relationships , how many of the old ones will u be able to remove and how sure are u that the lies will not repeat themselves even in marriage ?
