
Some gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed the Katsina State Acting Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Amadu Surajo.
It was gathered that the terrorist group, on Saturday invaded Mai Rana village, Kusada Local Government Area of the state, leaving Mr.Surajo dead.
It was learnt that two other persons were also killed and several others wounded during the attack which took place at 11:30 pm.
In a statement by the Katsina State Police Command’s Spokesman, Abubakar Sadiq on Sunday, disclosed that the gunmen invaded the residence of Mr. Surajo, shot him and kidnapped his wife and daughter.
He said: “A gun duel ensued when the operatives tracked the assailants to Kofa village, forcing the bandits to flee due to the operatives’ superior firepower.
“Unfortunately, two (2) persons were fatally shot by the bandits during their escape. Efforts are being intensified to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspects.
“Further development will be communicated as the investigation proceeds.”
