The Yobe State commissioner of police, Patrick Egbuniwe who confirmed this to Channels Television reporter in Damaturu said the gun shot is being heard in three different locations in Damaturu but that a combine team of the JTF is working to locate the spot with a view to repelling the attack.

The sounds of gunfire began to be heard across the town around 1:30pm and forced many residents to flee to their homes

We are getting closer and closer to a civil war again a reminder of 1966. It seems we have developed amnesia especially the politicians who are busy making looting the treasury by the second and not paying attention. This is all how it all started that resulted into war in 1966 which claimed many lives. Experience is always a good teacher but we have not learned from that war. It is immoral to attack another human being based on culture, religion, ethnicity…  etc……. These are innocent and defenseless people, children, women and Men. 99.999999% of these victims are poor. People should start leaving if they don’t belong to that particular area and if they can’t fight back. I don’t want them to fight back but they can’t fold their arms and sit idly doing nothing it like turning the other cheek. Maybe an outside help is needed like foreign troops to guarantee safe passage. It is unbearable. One single blood is just too much. We all can do something that is taking care of the living instead of the dead.
The country of Nigeria is “NATIONS WITHIN A NATION” So sad.[/font]
