The facility, the organisation’s spokesman, Tunji Balogun, said on Thursday in Lagos, had modern equipment and would be opened on Aug. 16, at Ikate, Surulere.
Balogun, noted that it would afford the state’s boxers the opportunity of honing their skills and be able to make progress in their career.
Balogun commended Olawale Edun, Chairman of the Hall of Fame, for his zeal to promote boxing in the country.
“The gymnasium will help in the hunt for talents from the grassroots and also give opportunity to boxers to develop their potential.
“I think the Hall of Fame should be commended for recording a milestone in the history of boxing in the state and the country at large,” Balogun said.
NAN recalls that the Hall of Fame has been in partnership with the state government in promoting boxing via the monthly ‘Saturday Boxing Show’ since July 2010.
The 33rd edition of the competition will hold on Aug. 25 at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Yaba.
