The documentary opens with an introduction by Professor Wole Soyinka. It seeks to educate Nigerians, home and abroad on the oil subsidy scam, how it affects everyone directly and the ensuing probe. Bako, uses different tools to evoke emotion and challenge our thought process.
With commentaries from Femi Falana; musician and activist, Seun Kuti, social entrepreneur – Japheth Omojuwa, former minister to the FCT, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and other other social commentators, the documentary takes us through the deliberations between the govenment and the civil society, through the January 2012 protests, to the “Farouk Lawan vs Femi Otedola” scandal.
The producers say the essential aim of the documentary “is to create a process of change driven by Nigerians.” The film is in partnership with the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) and will air on television in January 2013. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVq10BwzQoI#ws
