An 18-year-old woman is behind bars after she sold her baby for around $100 on Facebook, according to police reports in Chile.
Veronica Carrera Chaparro of Maipu, was arrested along with her mother and sister, who are accused of helping her with the sale.
When Chaparro and her family found out she was pregnant, her mother and her sister asked her to sell or abort the baby. The fetus was put up for sale on Facebook.
A couple of Santiago, contacted them and offered to pay $1,870 in registration fees. The birth mother also received $113.
Chaparro, her mother and her sister appeared before a court on Sunday.
The unidentified buyers were also arrested and appeared in court.
