Batshauyi bags brace as Chelsea trash Newcastle to ease pressure of Conte

Chelsea progressed to the next round of the FA cup with a comfortable 3-0 Victory of the Magpies with MichyBatshauyi brace and Marcos Alonso scoring from a set piece to ease pressure off Antonio Conte with intense speculation surrounding the future of the under-fire Chelsea boss after the Carabao cup exit. The Chelsea manager was tensed and virtually not joyful throughout the game as he watched from the dugout as his side produced a response to silent critics after a torrid week.

 Antonio Conte made four changes to his team that lost in the midweek to Arsenal at the Carabao Cup, though most Nigerians placed their bet that Chelsea will win at Betway sports bettingshops. Pedro released Hazard on a counter attack after winning possession from Newcastle, Hazard set the ball for an incoming Marcos Alonso to have an attempt on goal. With Newcastle goalkeeper charging at him, the Spaniard decided to pass the ball to MichyBatshauyi who was at the right space and time to tap into an empty net. Chelsea continued to improve after the goal and went 2 goals up after 13 minutes thanks to Belgian who was beginning to enjoy his afternoon. Pedro released Eden Hazard who bearing at goal decided to release Batshauyi on the run and the Chelsea Centre forward converted thanks to a deflected shot to extend the blues lead by two before the First interval. The magpies almost pulled one back before the break but Caballero’s save ensured that Chelsea maintained their clean sheet after saving both Shelvy and Mbemba attempts. Marcos Alonso wrapped off a perfect afternoon with the third goal via set piece as the Spanish footballer continues to establish himself as a free kick specialist. Ross Barkley was handed an FA cup debut while Ampadu and Hudson-Odoi were given opportunities to impress. MichyBatshauyi almost grabbed a hatrick but was denied twice by Darlow late on in the game.

Conte in his post-match conference praised his players for their display today. He also praised MichyBatshauyi though admitted that Chelsea will still go for another striker before the closer of the transfer. He also advocated for consistency and seriousness among the players as they team approaches the decisive month of February.
