A 50-year-old furniture maker, Peter Otobene, has been accused of beating his wife, Omowunmi, over ceiling fan at their residence in Festac town, Lagos.
It was gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday evening, January 24, 2021. According to a source, the mom-of-7 has been enduring domestic violence in her marriage for the pass 20-years.
“I don’t know where he was coming from, my mum was sitting in the sitting room when he entered. He immediately switched off the fan for no reason, so my mom went to put it on. He then went outside and switched off the whole light. Again, my mom got up to switch it on because everywhere was hot and my younger ones were sleeping.
By the time she came back, my dad descended on her, grabbed her throat and was trying to suffocate her. He hit her on her face as she struggles to set herself free.
This is not the first time, in fact he always threaten to kill her, he has cutlass every where in the house and he sometimes chase her with it. He’s an animal and I don’t want to go against the Bible by fighting with my father, that’s why I’m appealing to the appropriate authorities to step in and ensure my mother gets justice. She has suffered a lot,” the source said.

Pikin wey don already call papa animal. Mama sef wey know the kind craze husband wey she get for first ask why the man dey off fan and light. She just go turn on the fan again knowing very well say the man go react violently. Some wahala dey avoidable.

The silly child narrating this story does not know it goes beyond the fan. Both of them must have had incomplete quarrel or argument the child is not privy to. There is only a captain in a ship, only one driver in a car, if you wake up one day and decided to equate yourself by authority to your husband, forget about peace...he will deal with you till you leave. If she endured it for 20yrs and 7 children, why are you crying out for her now? Tell your mu to be submissive. The bible preached it but you people always pick verses that suit your stupid selves.

Exactly my thought too. The woman suppose to ask her husband why did you switched off the fan first? Even if the man gives good or bad reason, The woman suppose to act with caution knowing the kind of man she married. I strongly believe the woman is another wahala woman like her husband too. Two of you match each other.
