Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara Slammed For Tweeting That His State Is A Christian State

Newly inaugurated governor of Rivers state, Sim Fubara has caused a stir on social media after declaring that Rivers state is a Christian state. According to him, the state will stay strong to its Christian values. Posting his official photo portrait on his Twitter handle, Governor Fubara wrote;
 
‘’Rivers State is a Christian State, and God is our foundation. We shall govern with the fear of God and stay strong to our Christian values of trust, faith, love, care and sacrifice.'' Reacting, some Nigerians felt his Tweet not necessary. They argue that he should focus on good governance and how to serve residents of the state well instead of talks about religion.

The north started it, Hisbah and  sharia law operating in the northern states, i don't  think he's wrong for saying it. If he says it  is a Muslim state then the Muslims will be jubilalting . What a hypocrisy !

There's nothing wrong with what the governor said, as long as we have numerous states in the Northern Nigeria practicing Sharia Law - indicating a Muslim state. Abeg make una rest ojare.

Majority of those attacking him are his fellow Christians. You guys are always worried about the Muslims, "islamophobia"...if only you realize that Muslims don't really care as much as you think they do, we just want to find mercy in this world and hereafter mate, nobody cares which state is Christian state or not.
