A woman, identified as Oge, who made serious allegations against popular Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus, claiming she was involved in connecting girls to politicians for prostitution, has been apprehended by law enforcement authorities. The arrest comes after a viral video on social media featured Oge accusing the actress of being a professional pimp, sparking widespread attention and controversy.
Eniola Badmus, known for her stellar performances in the film industry, responded to the allegations through an Instagram post on Wednesday, cautioning those behind the defamation to be wary of the consequences. In a post written in Yoruba, she stated, “Trend carefully. Won ti je Badoskyy leti lol. Set Awon ko gbo nkankan. Zero answering,” signaling her readiness to take action to protect her reputation.
In a recent development on Sunday, a video surfaced on Eniola Badmus’s YouTube channel, Eniola Badmus TV, showing Oge in police custody at an undisclosed location. The footage captured the alleged troll expressing remorse and seeking forgiveness from the actress. Oge revealed that she was paid a sum of N200,000 to tarnish Eniola Badmus’s image in the viral video.
In her confession, Oge admitted that financial desperation led her to make the damaging allegations against the actress. “So, one of my friends said if I should come out and talk about Miss Eniola Badmus that he was going to send me N200,000 because I told him about my rent. So that was what prompted the video in the first place. So I’m so sorry. I just did it because of the money. I was so desperate to pay my house rent,” she tearfully revealed.
Following the actress’s prompt action in reporting the matter to the police, Oge was arrested on Saturday, July 22. The incident has stirred discussions on the importance of responsible behavior on social media and the potential consequences of spreading false information online. Eniola Badmus’s handling of the situation underscores her determination to protect her reputation and highlights the potential legal repercussions for those engaged in defamatory actions.
