Tragedy struck in the early hours on Wednesday, when an operational vehicle of Lagos State Waste Management Authority, LAWMA, tumbled off Masha Bridge in Surulere Local Government Area, which left the yet to be identified driver dead.
Few other people were said to be injured in the unfortunate accident. The cause of the tragedy could not be ascertained as of press time because it happened in the night.
However, an eyewitness, Ms Fadeke Idowu, confirmed the casualty while saying the accidental vehicle has been removed and seamless traffic restored.
“There was also a tricycle affected by the incident but we are not sure if there was any other casualty,” she said.
The Public Affairs department of LASTMA, which confirmed the incident, said the vehicle had been recovered from the road and normal movement restored.
As of press time, LAWMA was yet to give official statement on it.
