
In a decisive move against cybercrime, the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, together with visiting Justice E.O. Osinuga from the Ogun State High Court in Abeokuta, has successfully prosecuted and sentenced fourteen individuals involved in internet fraud.
According to a statement shared on the EFCC's official X handle on Friday, March 8, the convictions were handed down by Justices Ladiran Akintola, O.A. Lajide, Bayo Taiwo, M.O. Ishola, and Justice E.O. Osinuga following guilty pleas from the defendants.
The convicted individuals, arraigned by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) between February 23 and March 5, 2024, faced one-count separate charges related to internet fraud.


Among those sentenced are Olajide Oluwadare Samuel, Emmanuel Victor Oluwasegun, Ajibola Najeeb Ayomide, Adebayo Akinwumi Oluwadamilare, Ayodele Wonderful Samson, Olawunmi Olusola Taiwo, Akorede Habeeblahi Babatunde, Dasilva Olamide Samson, Oyeneye Jeremiah Abiodun, Kodagbese Emmanuel Aduragbemi, Oyebade Ayomide Olamide, Olarewaju Isaiah Oluwadamilare, Abdulazeez Abdulmalik Ifayemi Ayokun, and Khalid Ayomide Hammed.
The court's decisive action underscores the commitment to combatting cybercrime and ensuring that perpetrators face the consequences of their actions, contributing to efforts to maintain law and order in the state and beyond.
