Renowned musician Ebenezer Obey has recounted his miraculous survival following prostate surgery, attributing his recovery to divine intervention and the support of his fans and well-wishers.
In an interview, the 82-year-old legend expressed gratitude for coming out of the prostate enlargement surgery operation at Kelina Hospital, Lagos. He credited Nigerian doctors and the power of prayer for his swift recovery, emphasizing that God had more assignments for him on earth.
Obey revealed plans to share his full testimony at his upcoming 82nd birthday celebration on April 3, where he intends to release a song addressing prostate enlargement. He highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the condition, which affects males aged 40 and above, citing notable figures like King Charles of Britain who battled it.
Reflecting on his health journey, Obey disclosed that he underwent a major leg surgery two years ago, facing complications afterward. However, he persevered through the challenges, buoyed by his passion for music and the belief that singing has kept him alive.
Looking ahead, the 'Board Member' singer outlined philanthropic initiatives to mark his birthday, including visits to institutions such as Pacelli School for the Blind and the Lepers’ Colony in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The celebrations will culminate in a thanksgiving service at the Decross Gospel Mission, Lagos, on April 3, 2024.
