A devastating accident occurred at the River Niger Bridge head in Onitsha, Anambra State, claiming the lives of two innocent children. The incident, which occurred on Saturday around 5:00 pm, sent shockwaves through the community.
According to eyewitness accounts, a truck experienced a brake failure, resulting in the tragic accident. The truck, en route to Asaba, lost control and collided with the mother and her children, as well as other passengers waiting to board vehicles.
Miraculously, the mother managed to escape the collision with her life, but tragically, her two children were not as fortunate and were crushed to death under the weight of the truck.
The eyewitness described the scene as chaotic, with the mother overcome with inconsolable grief at the loss of her children. Additionally, several other individuals involved in the accident sustained injuries, adding to the tragedy of the situation.
As the community grapples with the aftermath of this devastating incident, authorities, including the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), have yet to issue a statement regarding the accident. The lack of official comment has left many seeking answers and accountability in the wake of this heartbreaking loss of life.
