SP Hundeyin verified the occurrence of the accident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, shedding light on the tragic event that unfolded on Friday evening.

According to the police spokesperson, the Ikorodu Police Division received distressing information about the accident around 9:41 p.m. on Friday.

Details provided indicated that the accident occurred at approximately 9:35 p.m. on the same day, in front of Ikorodu Radio Solebo along Igbogbo Road in Ikorodu.

The incident involved a Mercedes Benz C350 car driven by a 22-year-old man, whose identity was withheld, and pedestrians, including the victims: a mother identified as Ngozi, aged 40, and her three children, aged 16, 14, and 13, respectively.

Reports suggested that the driver lost control of his vehicle while traveling from Igbogbo towards Ebute, resulting in a collision with Ngozi and her children, who were selling groundnuts at the scene.

As a consequence of the accident, the victims sustained varying degrees of injuries, prompting swift action by the police to rush them to Ikorodu General Hospital for medical attention.
