
Law enforcement in Lagos State has made significant strides in combating criminal activities with the recent arrest of a 27-year-old man, Abubakar Haruna, for his alleged involvement in stealing cables from a transformer located in the Onikan area.
Confirmation of the arrest came from SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, who shared details of the operation on his official social media platform on Saturday.
According to Hundeyin's statement, police operatives swiftly responded to a distress call alerting them to the incident. Upon arrival at the scene, they apprehended the suspect, who had attempted to flee after cutting off cables from the transformer within a residential compound in the area.
The suspect was found in possession of incriminating tools, including a machete, two saws, and pliers, further implicating him in the crime.
Highlighting the ongoing investigation, the police spokesperson underscored the commitment of law enforcement agencies to thoroughly probe the matter and ensure that justice is served.
