In a reflective turn of events, Ambau Gitonga, a Kenyan school teacher, has publicly acknowledged himself as an "idiotic husband" a year after making serious accusations against his ex-wife, Linah Rukia Kanake, regarding extramarital affairs.
Last April, Gitonga stirred controversy by publishing a list of 20 men whom he alleged had been involved romantically with his former spouse. Among those mentioned was a Catholic priest, further intensifying the scandal.
Prior to unveiling the list, Gitonga had been circulating incriminating screenshots of messages, chats, and photos purportedly revealing details of Linah's alleged indiscretions. His social media posts were filled with attempts to substantiate his claims against the individuals listed.
In a Facebook post dated Sunday, April 7, 2024, Gitonga openly addressed his past actions and current perspective on the matter, expressing regret and self-awareness.
Titled "THE IDIOTIC HUSBAND," the post begins with Gitonga denouncing hate and malice, emphasizing that his statements are grounded in diligent observation and logical reasoning.
Detailing the challenges he has faced, including poisoning, police harassment, incarceration, and defamation, Gitonga reflects on his endurance through adversity. He attributes his perceived vulnerability to his own benevolence and tolerance towards his ex-wife's alleged misconduct.
Addressing his ex-wife directly, Gitonga questions her judgment in underestimating him, labeling himself as "shameful" and "utterly disgracing" for falling victim to her alleged deception. He rhetorically asks whom she takes herself for, given her past actions.
Gitonga concludes his post with a pointed remark, questioning why his ex-wife, who had supposedly engaged with "sages, veterans, and prodigies," is now single and available for a new relationship.
The post encapsulates Gitonga's introspective journey, highlighting his acceptance of past mistakes while simultaneously challenging his ex-wife's perception of him.
