Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano have apprehended one of the main orchestrators behind the abduction of Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu, mother of renowned political singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara.
In a covert operation, DSS operatives also eliminated one suspect and recovered N26.5 million. A high-ranking source within the Command disclosed that the Kano command’s tactical team, acting on reliable intelligence, intercepted a gang of five bandits in the Makarfi bushes while they were distributing the ransom money.
“One Hamisu Tukur is currently in custody with gunshot injuries, while another suspect, Bature, was killed during the operation,” the source revealed.
Three weeks prior, armed men had broken into Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu’s residence in Kahutu and abducted her. After enduring 20 days in captivity, she was finally released.
This development marks a significant breakthrough in the efforts to curb kidnapping and banditry in the region.
