A tragic incident occurred in the Lambata community of Gurara Local Government Area on Saturday, December 21, 2024, when a commercial bus crashed into a residential building, resulting in the death of a pregnant woman.
The bus, which was en route from Lagos to Kano, lost control while traveling at high speed and veered off the road into the family compound of the late Village Head of Lambata, Abdulsafur Lambata.
Reports indicate that the victim, a pregnant woman, was a passenger in another vehicle that had developed a fault in the area. She had been resting in front of the building when the bus crashed into the structure, fatally crushing her.
Authorities have yet to comment on the condition of the bus driver, but investigations into the cause of the crash are underway. Local officials have expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased.
