A 43-year-old driver identified as Laurence Rafter has been jailed for 14 years for removing a condom during sex with the consent of his partner.
According to reports, the driver met his partner through a dating app in July 2021, identifying himself as a man called “Jay Lincoln”.
The driver met up with the lady in her home in Islington, where she insisted on using a condom for their segxwal escapades.
However, during the act, he removed the condom without the consent of the lady.
After he left, he told the lady he was HIV positive, which was later revealed to be a lie.
The driver who was on the run was reportedly set up a false address and bank statement and a pre-paid mobile to avoid the police.
He also lied that he lived in a multi-million pound house, but in reality was living in a flat.
The jury of the court found him guilty of rape in October, and he also pleaded guilty to harassing the victim.
Following Rafter’s sentencing, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Ridley said:
