Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has resigned as boss of the Super Eagles just a day after winning the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

Keshi told Goal.com a few days before the final, that he would "pack his bags and leave" if he felt he was not wanted, but following the 1-0 win against Burkina Faso in the Afcon final, the coach was highly praised from all quarters.

However, after a dramatic falling out with the Nigerian Football Federation, Keshi has tendered his resignation.

His resignation letter still has to be discussed by the NFF, but the coach says he is unlikely to change his mind because he believes that NFF did not trust and respect his tactics as a coach.
