Saheed, who claimed to be an auto dealer, was first arraigned on 10 September for the offence, while his mother was later cojoined and charged with assaulting the popular actress, Anjorin.
The five-count charge with reference No. 0/60/2009, stated that Saheed Adetona Olatubosun, on 18 December, 2008, at about 11:00 hours at Akinola Akinpelu Street, Ipaja-Ayobo, Lagos, allegedly obtained the sum of N950,000 from the popular actress, Elizabeth Anjorin, on the pretext that he wanted to sell a Honda Odyssey car to her, but converted the money to his own use.
The offence, according to the prosecutor, Mr. Moton, is punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap C17. Vol. 22, laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
Mrs. Adetona was charged with assault on Miss Elizabeth, by slapping the actress and forcefully pushing her out of her house.
Her offence is punishable under Section 351, Code Cap. C17, Vol. 2, Law of Lagos of Nigeria, 2003.
The two suspects pleaded not guilty and were granted bail for N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
