Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Lagos State
Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, All Progressives Congress
(APC), National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and
Ibukun Awosika, Chairperson, First Bank Plc, have been
identified as Keynote Speakers for the Africa’s Young
Entrepreneurs Student Association’s (AYESA) Inaugural
conference to be held this Saturday at the Sports
Complex, University of Lagos with the theme
“Entrepreneurship in Education”.
According to the organisers, AYESA is not only about
having students who start their own businesses, “it’s also
about students who set their own goals in life. It seeks to
assist them with means to achieve them. It’s about
initiative and proactive attitude to solving problems that
matter to people. It’s about the university working closely
with the surrounding society and private sector”.
The conference which is an initiative of the Africa’s Young
Entrepreneurs (A.Y.E) “is committed to empowering young
entrepreneurs across Africa by creating platforms that
facilitate intra-trade on the continent; dedicated to
developing the next generation of outstanding African
entrepreneurs who will shape the economies and political
landscapes of their home countries”, a statement from the
organisation reads in part.
The AYESA is one of the avenues through which the South
African based organisation(A.Y.E), founded by Summy
Smart Francis with operations in about nineteen African
countries and membership of about twelve million
people, seeks to achieve it aims. “Our annual Networking
with the Giants conference will bring together young
entrepreneurs and established business luminaries in one
space to network and to close business deals, [because]
we envision new partnerships being formed at the
conference that will lead to numerous investments [that
would] translate into job creation across the continent”,
the organisers reiterated.
