President Bola Tinubu has emphasized the importance of patronizing locally-made goods to bolster the Nigerian economy and strengthen the Naira.
Speaking through his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, at the state house in Abuja, President Tinubu underscored the government's commitment to promoting and purchasing made in Nigeria products.
Ngelale relayed the President's message, stating, "President Bola Tinubu wants to communicate very clearly to our people that there has never been a more important time in our history to actively agree together to patronize and purchase made in Nigeria products across all value chains and sectors."
Highlighting the economic benefits, Ngelale continued, "We want the spending power of our people to go up. We want every Naira and kobo we earn to be more valuable not just here but also when we travel abroad."
In addition to urging Nigerians to consciously choose made in Nigeria products and services, President Tinubu aims to reassure citizens about the ongoing momentum in currency strengthening.
"Mr. President wants to ensure that Nigerians fully understand that the momentum we are now seeing regarding the strengthening of our currency is not going to slow down," Ngelale affirmed.
The call for increased patronage of locally-made goods aligns with the government's efforts to promote self-reliance, boost domestic production, and reduce dependency on imported goods. President Tinubu's message underscores the pivotal role citizens play in driving economic growth and stability through their consumption choices.
