In a significant operation, troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have arrested six individuals suspected of supplying logistics to the terrorist group Boko Haram. The arrests took place in Mafa Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno state on April 13.
According to Zagazola Makama, a publication that monitors activities in the Lake Chad region, the military personnel intercepted the suspects during a routine search operation. The individuals identified as Usman Gujja, Abu Hamman Dawud, Ramat Ibrahim, Hala Hadum, Alhaji Kawu, and Bulama Ali Boscoro were found transporting a truckload of Arabic gum valued at approximately N2 million.
Initial investigations suggest that these suppliers were allegedly involved in acquiring goods and selling them to finance Boko Haram activities. The profits from these transactions were purportedly returned to the terrorist group.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the military intelligence unit where they are undergoing further interrogation to determine the extent of their involvement and potentially unravel more operational networks of Boko Haram.
