Lagos Court Orders Deeper Life Church To Pay N5m To The Celestial Church Over Land Dispute

The Celestial Church of Christ has been awarded N5 Million in damages by a Lagos High Court to be paid by The Deeper Life Christian Ministry.

The Celestial Church had sued Deeper Life over piece of land at Mulero, Agege, Lagos and on January 17, 2014, the Lagos High Court declared the CCC as the rightful owner of the land and awarded N5 million as damages against Deeper Life Church for trespassing on the land.

However, Deeper Life challenged the ruling in and urged the appellate court to set the entire judgment aside. But, in a unanimous decision, the appellate court struck out the appeal after pointing out that the CCC obtained its title in 1973 as against that of Deeper Life Church which was obtained 1998.
