
An Apapa Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ajegunle, Lagos has sentenced a 27-year-old-man Harrison Ezekiel to six months imprisonment for stealing handsets and laptop.
Ezeikiel stole Itel and Gionee handsets valued N65, 000 and a laptop valued N60, 000 all valued N125, 000 inside a shop at Agric market, Odunade, Amukoko, Apapa, Lagos.
The Convict was jailed by Magistrate, A.O Olorunfemi in charge of Court 16, Apapa Magistrate’s Court after the convict pleaded guilty to the two count charges of stealing preferred against him by the Police at the Amukoko Division, Apapa, Lagos.
Police said that the journey to jail started for the convict on 24 January, 2022 when he went to Agric market, Odunade, Amukoko and entered a shop owned by the complainant, Ajayi Yusuf Olatunji on the pretext of buying something and in the process, stole one Itel, Gionee Phones and laptop and escaped through another exit unknown to him that CCTV cameras had captured him.
Police further said that nemesis caught up with the convict when he went back to the shop again in February, 2022 to steal, the complainant recognized him and raised alarm which attracted other traders who assisted him to apprehend the convict.
The convict, a resident of 25, Owoseni Ojo Road, Ajegunle, Lagos from Isoko, Delta State, was charged before the Court on a two-count of stealing.
When the Police Counsel, Adega Twonyiman Presented the facts of the case before the Court, the convict also pleaded guilty to the allegations and Magistrate A.O Olorunfemi subsequently sentenced the convict to six month imprisonment without on option of fine.
