The Labour Party has announced Peter Obi as the only presidential candidate of the party.

This is coming after reports held that a faction in the party elected one Ambassador Jude Ezenwafor as their flagbearer which apparently appeared as an impediment to the success of Peter Obi.
While Nigerians reacted differently to the claim, the party via its official Facebook page has stated that Peter Obi is the only presidential candidate existing in the party.

It further stated that the rumours about an internal contest for power are sponsored by mischief makers all in a bid to cause distractions.

The post reads:

“Mr. Peter Obi remains the only presidential candidate of Labour Party Nigeria , any rumors saying otherwise is being sponsored by mischief makers to cause distractions but we refuse to be distracted.”

Whether Obi, whether Ezenwafor, the party won't make significant impression at the 2023 polls. Neither of them would be president of NGR.

Your Tinubu will never be President. The northerners are already defecting from APC to PDP to tell you that they are northerners first before Nigerians. The rest of the vote down South, Obi will carry because the number of old market men and women that he can buy and thugs, wont be enough to even make him come 3rd. I think that he will be 4th behind the NNPP candidate. Its between Obi and Atiku depending on how northern youths respond to the call for change and a better Nigeria.

The middle belt will be the battle ground for Obi and Atiku, and I will give it to Obi due to the wave of change blowing and the negative effects of years of Fulani carnage in their land.
