On the morning of Friday, June 6, operatives of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) apprehended a suspect identified as Mubarak Abdullahi, aged 18, for vandalizing LED road stud lights on the newly renovated Third Mainland Bridge.
The suspect, who resides in Makoko, was caught in the act around 10:00 a.m., having already removed ten LED road stud lights.
These lights are crucial for enhancing the visibility of the road for users.
The arrest was made during a routine patrol by the RRS operatives, a security measure recently intensified by the RRS Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.
In response to concerns over traffic and infrastructure on the bridge, CSP Egbeyemi had deployed bike riders for round-the-clock patrols to ensure continuous monitoring and security in the area.
