The Command’s spokesman, Mr. Alfred Alabo, briefed the press on Friday, revealing that the suspects were caught in the act near the Rantya roundabout. The suspects, who used a tricycle as their mode of operation, reportedly posed as commercial riders to lure unsuspecting victims before robbing them.
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being part of a syndicate specializing in snatching belongings, particularly mobile phones, in the Rantya area,” Alabo said. He added that the suspects admitted to using hypnosis to disorient their victims before stealing their possessions.
The police recovered an Android phone and a tricycle with registration number PT 17437 from the suspects. The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by the Plateau State Police to curb crime in the region and ensure the safety of residents.
