
In a tragic incident on Saturday night, gunmen killed the Katsina State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Surajo Leader, along with two others in Kusada Local Government Area. The attack took place when the assailants stormed Mai Rana community, unleashing terror on the residents.
Reports indicate that the gunmen also abducted two of the deceased's wives and his daughter, an undergraduate student, during the raid. Following Islamic rites, the deceased was buried, though the community remains on edge, grappling with the horror of the attack.
The Katsina Police Command, through spokesperson ASP Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the incident and reported that police operatives quickly responded to the scene. A shootout ensued, forcing the assailants to flee, leaving behind one of their vehicles and one of the abducted wives.
Aliyu assured the public that efforts were underway to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend the criminals. He appealed for the community's assistance, urging anyone with credible information about the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward and aid in the ongoing investigation.
